Textreme Copper Wire Medium

Textreme Copper Wire Md is coloured copper wire for tying artificial flies. The Medium version has a diameter of 0.26 mm and is treated with an anodizing process. The protective layer gives the colour strong intensity and helps prevent oxidation caused by water action.

Construction and use

This material is suitable for fly bodies, segmentation and reinforcing ribs. Its wire form can be wrapped in even turns around the body to create an orderly division and help secure body materials. The finish is described as resistant to rubbing and water action, so it is useful where the surface remains visible in the finished pattern. When tying, cut the end with sharp wire cutters or wire scissors instead of flattening it; a clean end is easier to tie in and keeps the start of the wrap compact.
