Textreme Jumbo Cactus Pearl is an extra-wide chenille for building bulky yet lightweight fly bodies. Its base carries fibres with a rainbow effect, while the pearl finish provides an iridescent sheen. Use it for large streamers and patterns that need the hook shank covered quickly.

Construction and use

Expose a short section of the core, tie in the material, and wind it in adjacent turns along the shank. Sweep the fibres back before every turn to preserve the full profile and prevent them from being trapped. Its large width builds a substantial body with relatively few turns; match it to the hook size and proportions of the pattern before tying. Finish with a firm tie-in of the core, then trim the projecting fibres only when the shape of the fly calls for it.
