Textreme Jumbo Cactus UV

Textreme Jumbo Cactus UV is a broad, Cactus chenille with UV effect fibres. It is made for large, bulky streamer bodies where a strong profile is needed while the finished construction remains visually light. The UV fibres add a response or reflection in the UV range; the material should not be read as phosphorescent or as glowing in darkness.

Construction and use

Move the fibres aside over a short section, expose the core and tie it to the hook shank. Wind the chenille in adjoining turns, sweeping the fibres back before every turn. This method preserves the broad outline while leaving the fibres free to move as the fly is retrieved. Use it for a complete body or for a selected section, then secure and trim the end and tidy the profile after winding.

• Finish: UV fibres with UV-range response or reflection.
• Profile: builds substantial, visually light bodies.
• Uses: large streamers, broad bodies and surface accents.
• Handling: sweep the fibres back before every wrap.
