Textreme Midge Thread
Textreme Midge Thread is a slightly textured fly-tying thread offered in very brilliant colours. The 75 denier version is made for thin, smooth bodies, making it useful when a clean profile and controlled material build-up are important. It is especially suitable for buzzers, while also serving for nymphs, wet flies and dry flies on hook sizes 16 to 22. The thread can form a base for biot or quill on very small bodies, helping those materials sit on an even foundation. The spool contains 100 mt of thread.
Construction and use
This is a conventional tying thread, not monofilament and not a stated high-strength thread. Its light texturing helps it stay in place during tying, while the vivid colours can become a visible part of the pattern. On small flies, use steady moderate tension and build wraps economically so the body remains slim and the base beneath biot or quill is not unnecessarily covered.
