Textreme Phosphorescent Fibers
Textreme Phosphorescent Fibers are loose synthetic fibres for streamer wings, tails and bodies. After exposure to light, the material emits a phosphorescent glow, making it suitable for patterns fished deep or in low-light conditions. The fibres can be used alone or combined with other materials that build a baitfish profile.
Construction and use
Expose the material to light before tying, then separate a small portion and secure it to the hook shank. Layer the fibres to control wing width, or trim them to the length required for a tail. Small, evenly bound bundles keep the fly light and place the phosphorescent accent precisely where it is needed.
- Deep streamers Add the fibres to a wing or back to create a visible reference point in the profile after charging.
- Tails Tie in a short portion at the rear of the body and trim the tips without making the bundle excessively dense.
- Night patterns Use a restrained bundle so the glow complements the construction rather than weighing it down.
- Preparation Expose the fibres to light before tying, even the tips and secure them firmly with thread on the hook shank.
