Textreme Super Long Hair UV

Textreme Super Long Hair UV is a long, lightweight synthetic fibre material for streamer wings, tails, backs and broad baitfish profiles. It is voluminous but soft, so it settles and moves in water in a manner similar to marabou. The fibres include a finish that reacts to or reflects ultraviolet light, adding a UV-visible accent where that effect is useful. Tie it in small, well-secured bundles rather than creating a dense, heavy mass that would restrict movement.

Construction and use

Separate a modest bundle, even the tips and secure it along the hook shank. The long fibres can be layered, tapered and trimmed to suit the streamer’s shape. Work with small amounts at a time: excessive material reduces movement and makes it harder to maintain a clean, translucent profile.

• Streamer wing – build it from several light layers for volume without excessive density.
• Tail and back – secure the fibres with short, tight thread wraps and trim the ends to shape.
• UV accent – place the material where its UV-reactive or UV-reflective finish can support the fly’s profile.
• Baitfish profile – spread the fibres to the sides and taper them from the tail toward the head.
