Uni BigFly Fly Tying Thread

Uni BigFly is a very strong, flat polyester tying thread for large patterns and applications where materials must be secured firmly. It is suited to pike, steelhead and saltwater flies, as well as tandem constructions such as attaching a tandem connector. The thread is four times stronger and four times larger than a 6/0 thread, providing a substantial step up from ordinary fine tying threads. Its polyester construction will not dull fly-tying scissors.

Construction and use

BigFly can be untwisted quickly into a flat profile. In that form it lies neatly on the hook shank and head, making it easier to build a broad, stable thread layer. Choose it for large heads, bulky materials, pike streamers, bass bugs and saltwater patterns when a strong, readily handled thread is required. Check the bobbin twist before starting your wraps so the flat profile is maintained and unwanted ridges do not develop.
