Uni Cord 12/0
Uni Cord 12/0 is an extremely strong fly-tying thread made from continuous filaments of gel-spun polyethylene, or GSP. Its construction combines very high strength with a fine profile, making it suitable for unusual situations where an ordinary thread cannot provide enough holding power. It is particularly useful for muddlers and other patterns that require a highly resistant tying thread without a large build-up of wraps.
Construction and use
GSP uses continuous filaments rather than short cut fibers, giving this product its characteristic strength. Use Uni Cord 12/0 selectively when a pattern needs a powerful attachment point but has little room for a thick thread layer. Set consistent bobbin tension and secure the finishing end carefully: a very strong fine thread can compress materials firmly against the hook. The product is supplied on a 50-yard spool.
