Uni Glo Phosphorescent Tinsel
Uni Glo is a flat, film-like tinsel treated to glow in the dark. It is a practical way to add a phosphorescent accent to a fly, either as an exposed element or beneath another body material. The material is semi-transparent, and each spool contains 14 yards. Its flat construction lays in clean bands, making it different to handle from round wire or monofilament when covering a body.
Construction and use
Use UNI-Glo for ribbing, tags and bodies when a luminous detail is part of the pattern. Narrow sections can also be incorporated into streamer wings, while a layer beneath the visible body creates a phosphorescent underbody. Charge the material before tying if you want to check the effect, then anchor the tip with several firm thread wraps. Guide it without twisting so the flat face remains visible and the turns sit evenly.
