Uni Mylar #14 (0.9 mm) is a flat, two-colour tinsel with a reflective surface. Its high stretch allows it to sit closely against the hook shank during wrapping and form a neat covering without unnecessarily adding bulk. Use it as a rib to accent segmentation or as the material for a complete fly body. The 0.9 mm width covers a broad range of patterns, from larger flies to smaller designs requiring a narrow, bright body material. Construction and use
Uni Mylar does not add weight to the fly, making it suitable when colour and flash are wanted without extra mass. The stretch makes it easy to place adjoining turns over a thread underbody or prepared body base. Keep the tension moderate and consistent: loose turns may separate, while excessive tension is unnecessary for close contact. After completing the wrap, secure the end with thread before trimming it.
