Uni Soft Wire SM 0.2 mm
Uni Soft Wire SM is a very soft 0.2 mm wire for ribbing, underbodies and complete fly bodies. It follows the hook shank readily, making it easy to form the intended shape without forcing the material into place. The wire is suitable for trout nymphs, streamers and wet flies, and can also be used in selected dry-fly constructions. It can reinforce a body or be twisted with dubbing to create a Brush-style material. Each spool contains 10 grams of material. The product description also identifies this wire as non-tarnishing.
Construction and use
Its softness helps the tier make close, even turns and shape an underbody with controlled pressure. Use it as visible ribbing, or wind it more closely when a continuous wire body is required. Keep the tension steady while wrapping: excessive pulling can alter the spacing of the turns and make the finished body less even. When forming a dubbing brush, twist the wire and dubbing securely before winding it onto the hook.
