UTC Wee Wool Yarn

UTC Wee Wool Yarn is a micro-diameter yarn made from 100% fine fuzzy wool. Its softly hairy surface builds small bodies with a gentle, fibrous appearance without requiring the material to be split into separate strands. It is particularly well suited to midge nymphs and other small fly patterns where a compact wool body is useful.

Construction and use

Wind the yarn directly onto the hook or use it in a loop when a fuller profile is wanted. With small flies, work with short sections and moderate thread pressure, as excessive compression can flatten the fuzzy surface. After forming the body, lightly tease out any fibres that have become trapped beneath the wraps.
