Wapsi Angora Goat - Dubbing
Wapsi Angora Goat is a popular seal substitute with a coarse, spacey fibre structure and distinctive translucency. Instead of producing a tight, uniform body, it creates an open outline with visible movement and depth in the water. This makes the series especially useful for many salmon and steelhead patterns, as well as larger nymphs that benefit from a substantial but lively profile.
Construction and use
Use it for bodies, thoraxes, dubbed collars or other full sections on larger patterns. The coarse fibres are well suited to a buggy finish, while the material’s translucency helps keep the result from looking overly solid. Apply it loosely rather than packing it tightly onto the thread. After wrapping, tease the body with Velcro or a dubbing brush to separate the fibres and open the silhouette without removing its characteristic texture.
