Wapsi Awesome Possum Dubbing

Wapsi Awesome Possum Dubbing combines guard hair with soft possum underfur in a balanced blend made for a genuinely buggy body. The guard hairs create an irregular, lively surface, while the softer underfur fills the thread and prevents the result from being nothing but coarse fibres. It is particularly effective for nymphs of many types, from relatively neat bodies to fuller thoraxes with a pronounced natural texture.

Construction and use

Vary the amount to control the profile: a thin pinch gives a tidy abdomen, while a larger amount builds a fuller thorax or shaggy accent. It can be spun directly onto the thread, but a dubbing loop is useful when you want the guard hairs to stand out more clearly. Once wrapped, tease the body lightly with a dubbing brush to release the guard hairs. On small nymphs, brush sparingly so the silhouette remains compact.
