Wapsi Barred Rabbit Half Skin Zonked

Wapsi Barred Rabbit Half Skin Zonked is half a rabbit skin already cut lengthwise into zonker strips. The natural fur carries contrasting bars that provide a two-tone pattern for streamers, sculpin flies and other flies with a full profile.

Construction and use

The skin can be separated into individual strips or used as a larger section when tying a double bunny. At the tie-in point, part the hair across the strip, expose the hide and secure it to the shank. The barring remains visible in the finished fly and gives the pattern a defined visual structure. Run the strip lengthwise along the shank as a wing, tail or back and secure the hide at carefully chosen points.
