Wapsi Barred Rabbit Zonkers are longitudinally cut rabbit fur strips. The barred material is used for streamer wings, tails and backs, as well as for fuller patterns such as double bunnies, sculpins and Dahlberg divers.

Construction and use

Choose a strip format that suits the hook and the profile required; the product family includes more than one commercial cut. Part the hair away from the hide at the tie-in point and secure the exposed skin. The contrasting bars help maintain a clear pattern on the finished fly. Run the strip lengthwise along the shank as a wing, tail or back and secure the hide at carefully chosen points.
