Wapsi Barred Strung Neck Hackle
Wapsi Barred Strung Neck Hackle consists of barred rooster neck feathers joined at the base in a continuous strip for easy selection. Alternating colour bands create a clear, contrasting pattern. The material is intended primarily for streamers and pike flies, as well as patterns that call for a distinct barred profile.
Construction and use
Each feather has a central stem with fibres extending from both sides. Tied in, it can form a wing, tail, throat or side accent. The strung preparation makes it quick to browse the material and separate individual feathers. The bars emphasise the fly’s silhouette and add contrast. Match the feather’s width and length to the component being tied, then strip excess fibres from the base before securing it.
