Wapsi Cct Body Fur

Wapsi Cct Body Fur is a windable body material made from fine 0.75-inch nylon fibres mixed with flash fibres. It builds soft, mobile profiles for articulated flies and can be shaped into crab or shrimp patterns. The long fibres provide material for a full body that can be combed and trimmed to match the intended silhouette.

Construction and use

Tie in the strip and wind it onto the hook like synthetic hackle, sweeping the fibres back before each turn so they remain on the outside of the body. Once the required body length is covered, comb the fibres and trim them with scissors. Shape the material gradually rather than removing too much at once; this makes it easier to form broad articulated segments or more compact crab and shrimp profiles. Adjust the amount used to the hook and pattern proportions. The flash mixed through the nylon remains part of the body as it is wound and shaped.
