Wapsi Craft Fur
Wapsi Craft Fur is loose synthetic fur supplied as long fibres. It is used for wings, tails and full streamer profiles, as well as for crab and shrimp fly patterns. Select the fibres in bundles and adjust the amount to the profile required for the fly.
Construction and use
Before tying in, separate a small bundle, even the tips and remove excess underfur when a slimmer profile is needed. The fibres can be secured to the hook shank as a wing, tail or streamer body element. For greater volume, distribute successive bundles at several tie-in points and shape the result with scissors after securing them. The material can also be placed in a dubbing loop when a more spacious fibre profile is wanted.
- Form: loose, long synthetic fibres without a core.
- Preparation: select bundles, even the tips and tie them to the hook shank.
- Uses: wings, tails, streamer profiles and crab or shrimp fly patterns.
- Shaping: the fibres can be trimmed, separated and layered.
