Wapsi Ice Chenille Large

Wapsi Ice Chenille Large is chenille in a large size, intended for broad bodies on streamers and saltwater flies. Its reflective character adds surface sparkle and movement as the fly is retrieved. The material is wound onto the hook shank as a continuous body layer, and the package contains approximately 3 m.

Construction and use

Expose a short section of the core and tie it in where the body will begin. Wind the chenille in adjacent turns, sweeping the fibres back before each turn so they are not trapped under the thread. The large format builds a broad profile quickly; spacing between turns can be used to create taper or body segments. Secure the material firmly at the head, cut it off and cover the tie-in with thread.
