Wapsi Ice Chenille Medium

Wapsi Ice Chenille Medium is chenille in a medium size, intended for bodies on streamers, pike flies and saltwater flies. Its reflective fibres create a sparkling body surface and move as the fly is retrieved. The material is wound onto the hook shank to form an even, continuous layer; the package contains approximately 3 m.

Construction and use

Expose a short section of the core, secure it with thread and establish the starting point of the body. Wind successive turns adjacent to one another, sweeping the fibres back before each turn. The medium size builds a defined body without the broad profile of the Large format, while varying the spacing helps create taper or segmentation. At the head, secure the chenille with several thread wraps, cut it off and finish the fly neatly.
