Wapsi Micro Pine Squirrel Zonkers

Wapsi Micro Pine Squirrel Zonkers are very narrow, lengthwise-cut pine-squirrel fur strips. The soft, naturally barred fur gives small patterns a fine profile. The material suits miniature zonkers, streamer wings and tails where a subtle element with little bulk is wanted.

Construction and use

Before tying in, part the fur along the strip edges to expose the hide at the tie-in point. Lay the strip along the hook shank as a wing, tail or back, and secure it with tying thread at one or more points. Match the length to the hook and keep the tension moderate while tying. The natural barring of the fur can provide a distinct pattern accent.
