Wapsi Mini Marabou
Wapsi Mini Marabou consists of small, downy chicken feathers, also known as chickabou. Their compact size and soft fibres suit smaller streamers and jigs that need lively movement with a controlled profile. The feathers can be tied as tails, short wings or small collars. This material quickly gives a fly a full, soft outline while preserving the proportions of a compact pattern.
Construction and use
Mini marabou retains marabou’s characteristic movement in a format suited to smaller flies. Begin with a small bunch and add fibre as required, since the material can appear fuller after it is arranged. The tips may be aligned before tying in, or left slightly uneven for a more pulsating outline. Select feathers by the length and density of down required for the particular tail, wing or collar.
