Wapsi Ozark Turkey Quill
Wapsi Ozark Turkey Quill consists of very large, barred wild turkey quills supplied as loose fly-tying feathers. The regular barring creates a clear wing pattern or segmented wing case. Use the quills mainly for hopper wings and legs, muddler wings, and wing cases on stonefly and mayfly nymphs. Trim a section to the required shape or use a wider part when the fly design calls for it.
Construction and use
Firm barbs and contrasting bars retain a distinct pattern when the quill is tied in, folded or shaped. This material is suited to flat and formed fly components that depend on a clear visual pattern. Match the usable width and bar spacing to the design of the fly. The quills produce defined wings, legs and wing cases with a characteristic barred appearance.
