Wapsi Para Post Wings
Wapsi Para Post Wings is Water Shed-treated synthetic fibre material for building parachute posts, split wings and emerger cases. A small, even bundle can be adapted to the hook size and pattern, then secured as an upright support or a pair of divided wings. Bundle volume can be adjusted to the hook size and the intended wing profile.
Construction and use
Select a small, even bundle and align its tips before tying it in. For split wings, divide the fibres accurately into two equal sections and hold each section with controlled thread wraps. When making a parachute post, form the upright support around which the hackle will be wound. Check the axis and wing angle before trimming away the excess. Water Shed treatment helps the fibres resist wetting; the hook and the rest of the dressing also influence the complete fly's flotation.
- Material form: synthetic fibres for forming tied bundles.
- Preparation: choose an even amount, align it and secure it with controlled thread wraps.
- Wing division: split the bundle accurately to create balanced split wings.
- Practical uses: parachute posts, dry-fly wings and emerger cases.
