Wapsi Selected Marabou Plumes
Wapsi Selected Marabou Plumes are selected loose marabou feathers for soft, mobile fly components. They are especially useful for building Spey collars. Long barbs and a heavy feather stem help create a full collar while keeping the material under control during tying. The plumes also suit streamer tails, wings and other components where soft fibre movement is required in the water.
Construction and use
Marabou combines long, soft barbs with a heavy stem. This construction provides substantial volume and pronounced movement, making the plumes suitable for Spey collars and soft streamer components. Match the usable plume width to the intended profile, and clear unwanted fibres from the stem before wrapping. Progressive securing helps form an even collar with controlled density. The material can be shaped into a full profile while retaining a soft, mobile finish.
