Wapsi Silicone Fly Tail Small

Wapsi Silicone Fly Tail Small is a ready-made flexible silicone curly tail for smaller streamers and larger flies. The component has a narrow tying root and a curled working section left outside the rear of the body. It is installed as a complete tail, so there is no need to cut sheet material or arrange individual strands.

Construction and use

Place the narrow root against the rear of the underbody and secure it with thread wraps working from the middle toward the rear. Once the tail is aligned, add firmer wraps, but avoid tightening enough to cut into the silicone. Check the length before finishing the head and trim the free end if needed to suit the fly proportions. Family variants include solid and mixed colours, as well as treatments with pearl, silver or flake accents.
