Wapsi SLF P. Jorgensen
Wapsi SLF P. Jorgensen is a series of bright, wild multi-colour blends prepared by Poul Jorgensen. The combination of different SLF fibres creates a lively, irregular colour effect that is especially useful when tying salmon and steelhead flies. It can provide the main body colour or a concentrated flash of contrast in a collar, throat or other accent, depending on the pattern. To keep the blend looking varied, separate a small pinch with your fingers, distribute it along the thread and twist it evenly rather than compressing it into one dense lump.
Construction and use
These blends are intended for salmon and steelhead patterns where strong colour and a bright finish are part of the design. Use them for bodies, collars, throats or selected highlights on larger flies. A light brushing after the dubbing has been secured will open the surface and reveal individual fibres, adding relief while preserving the energetic mixed-colour appearance.
