Wapsi Sparkle Antron Dubbing
Wapsi Sparkle Antron Dubbing is a translucent, reflective material for adding sparkle to fly bodies. Its trilobal fibre catches and returns light, giving the finished pattern a lively accent while retaining a clean body impression. Use it on its own when you want a simple, bright dubbing, or blend it with another material to introduce sparkle and vary the surface. Because it works across many patterns, it belongs wherever a body needs more visual separation without a bulky profile.
Construction and use
Try it on nymphs, wet flies, scuds and other imitations in which a little translucence and light reflection strengthen the body shape. Apply small pinches to the thread and build the profile gradually; excess material can hide the trilobal fibres. When blending, combine modest amounts before dubbing rather than adding a thick layer of Antron over the finished body. A gentle brush at the end will expose selected fibres and keep the sparkle controlled.
- Fibre: trilobal Antron with a translucent, reflective character.
- Effect: a sparkling body surface with added light return.
- Patterns: nymphs, wet flies, scuds and many other fly designs.
- Handling: use small amounts alone or blend them into another dubbing.
