Wapsi Spinner Tails
Wapsi Spinner Tails are fine prepared tailing fibres for mayfly spinner tails and selected wings. They are supplied as an approximately 1 cm wide strip of organised fibres. Separate only the small bundle required for the pattern, keeping the material controlled and ready for precise work at the vise.
Construction and use
Take a small bundle, align the tips as required, and tie it at the rear of the hook shank to form the tail. When the pattern calls for it, divide the fibres into two or three tails before or after securing them. The material suits delicate mayfly spinner imitations, spent patterns and selected wing structures. Use light thread tension and a few firm wraps so the fine fibres remain in the intended position without adding unnecessary bulk to the body.
