Wapsi Supreme Hair

Wapsi Supreme Hair consists of 11-inch flexible, crinkled nylon fibres for streamer wings and large streamer patterns. Its coarser texture compared with Unique Hair builds a fuller profile, while the soft material retains movement as the fly is retrieved. The fibres are supplied loose, so the tier can regulate wing density, add layers, and match the bundle to the size of the pattern.

Construction and use

Separate a small bundle, align or spread the ends, and secure it with firm thread wraps. On large streamers, build the profile from several moderate bundles rather than one overly dense bunch; this allows the crinkled fibres to move freely. After tying in, taper and trim the material to form a wing, back, or tail with controlled proportions.

• Large streamers – the coarser crimp helps create a fuller baitfish profile.
• Wings and backs – layer the bundles to control the height and shape of the profile.
• Tails – flexible fibres move during the retrieve and when the fly pauses.
• Tying – use small bundles, secure them firmly, and trim only after checking the silhouette.
