Waterworks ULA Force
• Spool Arbor Ratio – The ratio of arbor diameter to width and to depth is optimized. This gives the angler constant drag (by minimizing changes in radius as line is pulled from spool), less line coil memory (by storing larger loops) and faster line pick-up per rotation.
• Ultra Light Weight – Ultra light because rods got lighter and reels didn’t. We eliminate the pronating and pendulum force that a heavy reel exerts on a rod, improving casting feel and performance. • Mechanical Simplicity – We reduce the number of parts from 80+ on a typical reel to 23 (latching system alone eliminates 16 parts and locks spool to frame, seals drag, and engages drag; counterbalance is built into the spoke). Simplicity reduces weight and increases reliability.
• Superior Materials and Finish – Fully machined barstock aluminum. Many components parts are titanium; anodization is ceramic Type III which is 10x thicker and harder than the standard Type II used on competitive reels.
• Drag System – Maintenance-free conical drag is sealed with multiple O-rings. Self-lubricating lead/bronze female cone is precisely matched to delrin/teflon male cone. Drag generates up to 11 lbs. torque on 9 wt and above, has zero startup inertia, and never needs cleaning, lubrication, replacement or maintenance of any kind.
