The WF version carries more of its mass towards the front of the line, helping the angler feel the head working and load the rod when learning the basic casts. DT has symmetrical tapers at both ends and provides a more evenly arranged profile; once one working end becomes worn, the line can be reversed. Both versions float throughout, making the line easy to lift from the surface and reposition during general fly fishing.
The braided multifilament nylon core supports useful casting characteristics in lower temperatures, while the low stiffness promotes relaxed line handling. A PVC coating forms the outer layer. When selecting a version, match line weight 5 or 6 to the rod designation and choose the profile to suit your casting preference: WF supports straightforward loading at the start of the cast, while DT provides a traditional double-taper layout.
