Taimen STX Fly Line
Taimen STX Floating Fly Line is a family of floating fly lines designed for straightforward casting and a broad range of fishing situations. Its accessible handling allows the angler to concentrate on casting rhythm and fly control, making the series suitable both for learning to cast and for regular fishing. As a floating line, it stays on the surface, helping with line observation and control as well as lifting the line into the next cast.
Profile and fishing use
The family comprises separate tapers intended for different outfits. The WF-F and DT-F trout and grayling variants cover line weights #3 to #6. With WF, more of the casting mass is positioned towards the front of the fly line, in the head, helping the angler load the rod and deliver the cast. DT places a taper at either end and retains the classic double-taper layout. A separate WF-F pike taper covers line weights #7 to #9. Each profile is a distinct family variant, selected for its intended type of fishing rather than as one taper for every application.
- Type: floating fly line
- Total length: 30 m
- Core and coating: braided multifilament nylon and PVC
- Stiffness: low
The braided core and low stiffness give the line a supple, approachable handling character. When choosing a variant, first match the line weight to the rod, then select the appropriate profile: WF-F or DT-F for trout and grayling fishing, or the pike WF-F taper for an outfit intended for pike.
